Rosewood, marble and brass console table in the style of Paolo Buffa, 1950s. It consists of five drawers made of fine rosewood placed on a slender structure consisting of six very high legs tapering downward with brass end-pieces. A decorative brass joint connects the legs to the dividing elements of the drawers. The latter have rosewood fronts with characteristic herringbone carving set in a perimeter frame veneered with the same wood but with horizontal grain. The inside of the drawers is maple. Both fronts and uprights and legs are adorned with an inlaid border. The top is white marble with gray-pink-glycine veining, in perfect condition. The drawer handles are made of brass, as are the studs that adorn the cabinet.
The console table is in excellent condition having never been used; it may show some age-related marks on the varnish but does not require restoration except for cleaning the brass. An oval table with the same marble is available from the same series (contact the seller for more information).
