Antique Italian painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil on canvas portraying an old woman, 'The pharmacist's widow of Trento', of good painterly hand. Particular subject of great size and strong visual impact adorned with a 19th century wood and plaster frame, carved, ebonised and gilded. Work rich in decorative elements, very pleasing the apothecary vases to the left of the figure. Very well painted is the widow in a dark dress with finely finished lace. An inscription (bottom left) provides information about the place and the figure portrayed (see photo). Painting that has undergone conservation restoration, re-staining, replacement of the frame and repainting in places (see photo). Painting in overall good state of preservation.
