Item description

This finely executed sculpture depicts a young African man wearing a distinctive green hat. This work belongs to early 20th century Venetian production on exotic subjects evocative of the Venetian Republic's colonial past. The antique Venetian statue of a Moor symbolises a servant holding a small oar in his left hand. The antique moor rests on a gondola, which in turn rests on an octagonal base of marbled wood. Good condition. Provenance: 19th century Venice. Measurements: 40x45 cm, H 155 cm. Certificate of Authenticity. We are at your disposal for further clarifications or photographic details.
