Antique painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil-on-canvas work depicting an allegorical subject of the Rudolfine school, a peculiar scene of playing putti by a good painterly hand. The Rudolfine school, also called the Prague school, refers to that group of artists working at the court of Rudolph II of Habsburg. Painting that develops horizontally, with a dark background, characterized by the strong contrast of light with the characters in the foreground. Painting depicting putti with various objects with specific allegorical meanings. We find fireworks that could refer to an event to be celebrated or to the power of the patron, the pear symbolizing wealth and an Ouroboros, a representation of infinity and eternal return. Work that has been restretched and undergone conservation restoration, frame replacement and color restoration in several places (see photos).
