Item description

Oil painting on canvas depicting Christ praying in the Garden of Olives. An angel holds up the suffering saviour aware of his destiny for the salvation of the world. From above another angel holds the chalice, symbol of salvation. In the background we can glimpse figures, probably the disciples, dozing in their sleep. The painting is in excellent condition on an original period frame. The canvas has been cleaned. Set in a stylish gilded frame. Mid-19th century period. For further photos please contact me.
