Ancient Flemish painting from the 17th century. Work signed lower right C. Droochsloot referable to the Dutch painter Cornelis Droochsloot (1630-1674), lacking authentication. Oil painting on panel depicting the parable of the wedding banquet. Jesus said that the Kingdom of Heaven is like a King who gave a great wedding dinner for his son. When everything was ready he sent his servants to call the guests but they did not want to come, making various excuses. Then the King was indignant and sent troops to kill the guests and set fire to the city. Then he told the servants that the guests were not worthy and sent them into the streets to call the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame. A painting of notable pictorial quality and rich in details typical of the Flemish school of the Dutch Golden Age. 20th century frame in carved and lacquered wood, with some signs of aging (see photo). Painting that has undergone restoration with color recovery in some small points, overall in good state of conservation. Light painting H 47 x W 64 cm.
