Oil painting on copper depicting the Madonna and Child with young Saint John the Baptist, made in Naples in the 18th century. The work has a good balanced and harmonious composition in the center of which is the Madonna looking intently at Saint John as she exchanges the dove for the baby Jesus. The Child wrapped in white drapery and painted with already adult facial features and gaze, looks at Saint John. The Virgin presents the classic veil and wears a dress of soft purple drapery alternating with blue and holds the Child on her lap within an undefined setting.
