Nine-light Art Nouveau brass and crystal chandelier, 1920s
A nine-light Art Nouveau (Liberty) chandelier dating from the early 1900s. Its robust structure is characterised by brass castings, finely worked with festoons and garlands evocative of the ancient Roman Empire, reinterpreted in the Art Nouveau era. The upper part is adorned with elegant friezes that support delicate chains, while the lower part has a large shade composed of rows of facetted crystal spheres that conceal the lights inside. The chandelier has six beautifully decorated arms, each ending in rose-shaped opaline glass shades.
