antique bottle trunk, Birra Poretti Varese. Made of solid oak wood.
Rare object, dates back to 1912 as per the "Casalpusterlengo 1912 sawmill" logo on one side. On the trunk there are the Jugendstil logos typical of the time. The trunk probably had a spaced bottom inside for housing the bottles. All original, except for a rope handle.
the object has been restored, cleaned and rubbed with
straw-coloured oil. the metal parts cleaned with ovatrol.
there are signs of woodworm, dating back to before the
anti-woodworm treatment carried out recently.
Currently there are no more woodworms.
Structurally the trunk is robust and usable.
It can be closed with a padlock. (not supplied).
