Empire style brass and crystal chandelier, 1940s
Empire style "hot air balloon" chandelier in brass and crystal, 1940s. Made with a sturdy chiseled brass structure, covered with rows of octagons that descend from the upper crown to join in the lower one, giving it the shape of a hot air balloon. To further enrich this beautiful chandelier, a multitude of prisms hanging in the central band, in the saucers and in the lower band of the chandelier, in addition to the large crystal drops hanging in the shape of a shield that descend from the arms. It was made in Italy in the mid-20th century and has been completely restored: every single piece of brass was dismantled, the oxide was removed and all the crystals were cleaned and subsequently sewn back together. New electrical system.
