In the bottom right-hand corner the monogram of the artist's name 'NE' Eva Nemet. Hand-woven in 1970. Éva Németh (1930-2019) was a Hungarian textile designer, best known for carpets and tapestries. She studied at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. During the 1970s and 1980s she won textile design awards and was featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Budapest and other European cities. Many of her works feature animal motifs such as birds. Her designs were produced by the Ziola company in Hungary and were mainly sold in Scandinavia, especially in Copenhagen.
