Item description

Splendid Italian painting from the 17th century. Oil on canvas work depicting a rare composition: Christ adored by angels and Saint Bonaventure; of remarkable painterly hand. Of particular quality is the Saint on the right who turns his gaze to us breaking the fourth wall as he points to Jesus. Also noteworthy is the gentleness of the angels' faces in addition to the superfine technique in the realization of the incarnations. Frame from the 19th century with some minor lacks and signs of time (see photos). Work that has been restretched and undergone restoration with frame replacement. It has several color lacks (see photos), overall in fair state of preservation. Size without frame: 93 x 110 cm.
