Rare pair of portraits of the second half of the eighteenth century. Oil works on canvas depicting two splendid male figures, a hunter with his dog and player with string instrument. Paintings of remarkable pictorial quality with traditional costumes of Eastern Europe rendered meticulously and refined sense of color. The first character is represented with a decorated headdress and a precious cloak with fur collar, holds a rifle and has the inseparable hunting dog next to it. The second wears an oriental guise and plays a string instrument, probably the Saz, a kind of lute of Turkish origin. The pictorial technique refers to the Venetian production of the eighteenth century and the paintings are attributable to the context of the painter Giuseppe Angeli (1709-1798), also known for its costume portraits and figures of character (the works are currently not accompanied by Expertise, but it is possible to obtain it upon payment of the related additional costs). Cornices of the twentieth century in richly carved and golden wood, with some signs of time. Paintings already restored with Rintelo, replacement of the frame and color recovery in small points. Overall in good conservative state. Painted light h 93 x l 75 cm.
