Ancient Italian painting in the second half of the eighteenth century. Oil work on canvas depicting religious subject, ancient copy from Correggio (1489-1534), mystical marriage of Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. Picture of great extent and impact, finely made in the smallest details, by the ring held in the right hand of Jesus, to the hair of the characters to the splendid clothes. Delicious faces and hands of the characters (see photo). On the right we find a young San Sebastiano who scrutinizes the scene, at the top left instead the martyrdom of the saint (see photo). Work for antiques and furnishings, adorned with a wooden wooden frame carved, fake marble and golden lacquered (bronze color), of beautiful decoration. Painted in beautiful patina, already reined with replacement of the frame in the twentieth century, with several small color falls (see photo). Excellent quality picture, overall in discreet conservative state. Painted light H 120.5 x L 98 cm.
