Description: Ancient painting oil on Tella depicting "Diana's rest" with golden and carved wooden frame coeval with it. The scene depicts the goddess of the hunt which, after stirring Arco and Faretra, is ready to enjoy the pleasures of a relaxing bathroom in the company of its nymph. The two girls are on the edge of a grove at the banks of a watercourse. They are hidden by high and luxuriant shrubs and the goddess sits naked on a precious blue silk fabric. The sweetness of the chromatism and the softness of the skin of the two young women show the importance of the influence of Italian art on the formation of the painter. In reality, mythological inspiration only served to justify an image that otherwise would appear as too sensual. The subject is secondary for the true purpose of the painting here we want to celebrate the charm of the female nude, in a mixture of glamor and eroticism. Conditions: good condition.
