Item description
Italian painting from the early 20th century. Impressionist oil on canvas work depicting a countryside view with characters, of excellent pictorial quality. Nicely sized painting with pleasant decor adorned with a non-coeval frame from the second half of the 20th century, finely sculpted and gilded. Painting signed E. Morteo on the bottom right (see photo) referable to the Genoese painter Ettore Morteo (1874-1939), lacking authentication. Painting that develops vertically, the foreshortening created by the painter is pleasant with a skilful use of light that creates a strong and interesting contrast with the elements placed in dim light. Work for antique dealers, interior designers and collectors of 20th century Italian views, with pleasant furnishings. In good condition with some small signs of aging. Light painting H 73 x W 59.5 cm.
