This elegant piece of furniture, an archetype of Mid-Century Modern design dating back to the 1950s, presents itself as a low and elongated sideboard that combines functionality and formal refinement. The main body boasts a teak wood essence veneer, characterized by a dense and deep vertical grain that radiates an intense chromatic warmth, typical of the high quality furniture of the time.
The rigor of the shapes is elegantly interrupted by the skilful use of material contrast: a perimeter band and the edges are finished in matt black. This color choice not only frames the warm essence of the wood, but also accentuates the clean geometry of the furniture, giving it a graphic and resolute appearance.
The facade is divided into four symmetrical doors, each of which is animated by discreet vertical handles, also black, which integrate harmoniously without weighing down the volume. Internally, the piece of furniture reveals practicality with compartments covered in a lighter wood and divided by shelves, confirming its intended use as a versatile container.
The entire structure rests on an air base, a fundamental stylistic feature of the period. The legs, thin and tapered, contribute to the visual lightness of the furniture, lifting it off the ground. The final touch of distinction is given by the metal feet. Made of brass, polished and shaped like a truncated cone, these elements not only act as elegant tips, but add a precious point of light in contrast to the darkness of the legs, reflecting the attention to detail typical of mid-century Italian or Scandinavian design manufacturing.
