Important Italian polychrome porcelain sculpture, made in the 20th century (circa 1950s-1970s), depicting a young peasant woman in traditional clothing.
The figure is finely modeled and hand-painted with bright and well-preserved colours: blue corset, wide skirt, yellow shawl decorated with floral motifs and little lamb at her feet, a typical symbol of pastoral iconography. In her hand the young woman holds a bucket, a narrative element that enriches the scene.
The shaped base is decorated with reliefs and light gilding, in line with the Italian figurative production of Capodimonte and nineteenth-century romantic taste. Excellent rendering of the faces and folds of the fabrics.
