We are pleased to present this series of two oil on panel paintings. The pictorial style suggests an early 20th century Italian painter; the paintings feature red initials at the bottom left, but the artist's name has not been identified.
These are two splendid landscapes of the Italian countryside, in a flat area with mountains in the background (probably the Po Valley, in northern Italy). Both paintings feature green fields and gnarled, almost bare trees in the foreground, while in the background are small country villages with low white houses and red roofs. The pictorial quality is evident, a realistic style with strong and visible brushstrokes that almost give shape to the trees, the lawn and the rest of the landscape. The artist perfectly captures the natural light and atmosphere of the Italian countryside, you find yourself transported to the scents of the green meadows. The small size makes them even more captivating and highlights the artist's executive mastery.
Two wonderful small paintings that will enchant your guests! If you love Italian countryside landscapes, you absolutely must add these stunning paintings to your collection.
The paintings are accompanied by two elegant 20th century frames.
