Refined Italian coffee table from the 1950s, made in the style of Fontana Arte and representative of the design culture of post-war Italian modernism.
The circular glass top is centrally fixed by a brass element in the shape of a stylized flower, a distinctive detail that performs a structural and decorative function. This central stop gives visual balance to the composition and becomes the aesthetic fulcrum of the entire furniture.
The base is made up of three curved wooden elements that converge around a central disc, creating a dynamic yet harmonious structure. The tapered legs streamline the silhouette, while the dialogue between transparent glass, warm wood and patinated brass generates a refined material contrast.
The wood has been restored and polished with shellac, a traditional technique that enhances the depth and natural shine of the surface. The brass parts retain the original patina, testifying to the authenticity and character of the piece.
Sculptural but functional, this coffee table lends itself as a central element in a refined living room or as a design complement in a modernist interior.
