Splendid French Louis XV style centre desk dating back to the second half of the 19th century (Napoleon III era). The piece of furniture combines the sinuosity of eighteenth-century forms with the craftsmanship of nineteenth-century Parisian cabinetmaking.
Main Features:
Materials and Inlay: Entirely veneered in bois de rose with a refined parqueteria workmanship (geometric cube/rhombus pattern) that creates an elegant play of light and grain across the entire surface of the top and sides.
Design: Line moved on all sides, typical of the rocaille style, with agile cabriole legs.
Bronze Details: Enriched with gilded bronze applications and chiseled on the top profiles, on the "chutes" (shoulders of the legs) with floral and leafy motifs, and end shoes at the feet.
Features: Equipped with a retractable front drawer in the inlay, complete with working key.
State of Conservation: The furniture is in excellent general condition. Shellac polishing enhances the warm tones of the wood and the structure is solid.
