They are slightly tapered at the top and terminate in small plinth feet. Trim: rosewood Decorative Appearance The Top The top is the decorative centerpiece of the piece and is organized according to a rigid, geometric neoclassical symmetry: Central Medallion: An elegant oval reserve encloses a classical figurative motif: a mythological or allegorical bird (an eagle or a phoenix with outstretched wings) clutching an olive/laurel branch in its beak, resting on a composition of trophies, plant elements, and a drum/shield.
