Murano glass mushroom-shaped lamp from the 1970s, designed by Carlo Nason for Mazzega
Iconic Space Age style "mushroom" desk lamp. Hand-blown glass on the island of Murano, this lamp is attributed to the visionary designer Carlo Nason for the prestigious Mazzega company
The lamp is made of a single piece of Murano glass, without joints, with the sophisticated "spiral" technique. Translucent, milky-white spiral stripes elegantly wrap around the organic, mushroom-shaped silhouette, creating a hypnotic visual rhythm.
Once lit, the glass diffuses a soft and suggestive light which highlights the craftsmanship of the Venetian glassmakers.
In excellent condition. The hand-blown glass body is pristine, free of chips or cracks, while the base has minor, minor signs of wear consistent with age and use.
The electrical system has been professionally overhauled and is in perfect working order.
