Rare small dresser of Biedermeier style and era, built in the early 19th century, of great quality and great workmanship.
Made mainly of mahogany wood, with refined inlays in light maple wood depicting a floral motif on the first drawer and a scene from Greek mythology on the second, where Erato, daughter of Jupiter and Mnemosyne, muse of lyric, choral and love poetry is represented
(always represented with the lyre).
The structure has three drawers of different heights, all with locks and bone escutcheons.
The central drawer is characterized by an inlaid round lunette, a detail typical of Danish or German production of the period.
The peculiarity, not easy to find in other similar dressers of the time, are the inserted maple profiles:
-between the second and third drawer
-between the third drawer and the lower frame
-like feet on the bottom
In a very good state of conservation, given its age, with the inevitable small signs of use, this small dresser has a healthy, intact structure with no deficiencies and only needs, if necessary, to be repainted (see the attached photos).
