Item description

Description: Ancient Roman frame in gilded and carved wood belonging to the early 19th century. The frame has a complex molded section with alternating oval grooves and carved strips. The upper central cartouche is very pronounced with acanthus leaves while the lateral scrolls are symmetrical. The entire border is a succession of floral motifs and rosettes repeated along the entire edge. General Conditions: Excellent condition. Provenance: Rome, early 19th century. External Measurements: 145x120cm. Internal Measurements: 106x75cm. Document: Certificate of Authenticity.
