Elegant small Italian frame from the second half of the 19th century, in the refined Florentine Baroque style. The structure is entirely made of finely carved and gilded wood, adorned with rich volutes and leafy tendrils, typical of the Tuscan decorative tradition. The composition, very lively and sculptural, features large openwork volutes. This type of frame, inspired by the Baroque and Rococo models of eighteenth-century Florence, was highly appreciated in Florentine decorative art from the mid-nineteenth century onwards.
