Mid-eighteenth-century Italian painting, Neapolitan school attributed to
Giuseppe Bonito Castellamare di Stabia 01-11-1707 Naples 19-05-1789
The oil on canvas represents the half-length portrait of a noblewoman
with her hair tied back and her face in the foreground.
The dress, in precious green fabric with a deep neckline,
also leaves part of the shoulders and back exposed.
The hand holding a flap of the dress
has tapered fingers and well-groomed nails.
The pearls that adorn the hairstyle and
the earrings give a touch of class to the portrait.
