Extraordinary Sicilian Art Deco wooden sideboard, with glass top, central drawers and side compartments. The piece of furniture comes from a noble family in the heart of the city of Catania and represents a unique piece in terms of executive quality, symbolism and stage presence.
The structure features fine wood grains, nickel-plated brass details and an elegant architectural composition. At the base, two hand-sculpted elephants visually support the piece of furniture and recall the symbol of the city of Catania, the Elephant Fountain, known as "u Liotru". The downward pointing trunks are a sign of respect to the city. The piece of furniture has undergone a luxury restoration, carried out with a traditional shellac pad polishing technique, which enhances the depth, brilliance and warmth of the wood.
