With You in the Clouds, Antonio Nunziante (Naples 1956)
Created in 2002, this work belongs to the period of full artistic maturity of Maestro Antonio Nunziante, a phase in which the painter consolidated his expressive language, characterized by a refined balance between Magical Realism, metaphysical suggestions and contemporary symbolism. An elegant domestic interior houses a sofa on which lies a large red rose, the absolute protagonist of the composition. In the background, a half-open door invites the gaze to a dimension beyond the visible, while a classical bust silently dialogues with the seascape illuminated by a sky crossed by imposing clouds.
The large red rose, placed at the center of the scene, becomes a metaphor for presence, love and memory. The open door suggests a passage to an inner dimension, while the sea and sky expand the space of the painting beyond the limits of architecture.
The result is a suspended, silent and timeless image, capable of engaging the observer through the evocative power of symbols rather than through narration.
