Double pumpkin vase in majolica with monochrome blue decorations. Ribbed ovoid body, painted in different shades of blue with flowering peonies, the upper part, always tapered, decorated with vegetal spirals. France, Haute-Marne. Under glaze blue mark, attributable to the Aprey manufacture. Factory founded in 1780 in French Haute-Marne which produced very decorative majolica, which in many cases was inspired by other European manufactures. The AP monogram placed under the base and the presence of the letter J (Jarry, a well-known decorator at this factory) date the artefact to the early 19th century.
