Vase with majolica lid, decorated in monochrome blue. The ribbed vase has a lozenge decoration with flowering branches. The lid, with a lobed edge, has a knob grip. France, Haute-Marne. Manufacture mark under the base in underglaze blue, attributable to the Aprey manufacture. Factory founded in 178O in French Haute-Marne which produced very decorative majolica, inspired in many cases by other European manufactures. The AP monogram placed under our vase and the presence of the letter J (Jarry, a well-known decorator at this factory) date the artefact to the first decades of the 19th century. The factory closed around 1840.
