Restoration-style secretaire crafted from mahogany and embellished with mahogany crotch, dating to the second quarter of the 19th century in Italy. The structure features a drawer in the projecting band beneath the top, supported by elegant carved swan-shaped columns with reworked gilding, lending a touch of refinement. The drop-leaf door is paneled and reveals a leather insert on the interior, as well as a cabinet composed of five drawers with gilded sheet metal lion handles and an open compartment. The base features three drawers and 45-degree beveled uprights, while the turned feet are ebonized and gilded. The top is inset with gray marble, which complements the embossed and gilded sheet metal handles and escutcheons perfectly. The interior is crafted from fir, offering a solid and durable structure.
