Item description

Old Italian painting from the second half of the 19th century. Oil painting on copper depicting religious subject St. Matthew on a gold background with a good pictorial hand. Small painting, for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of antique copper painting. Painting characterised by bright colours, rounded at the top, probably created as a decorative cover for a niche (see photo). It has small holes on the sides, some colour fading and some signs of time. Work that has undergone conservative restoration during the 20th century. In beautiful patina and in a good state of preservation.
