Set of 6 chairs THONET n 18. The history of the Thonet chair is full of episodes. Indeed, in over a century of history. Its design, in fact, dates back to 1859 when the cabinetmaker Michael Thonet developed the design. In order to create the sinuous lines that characterized the Thonet chair, the cabinetmaker made use of a technique that was spreading at the time: steam. Thanks to this, in fact, it was possible to soften the wood to give it the desired curvature. Beech structure, seat in Vienna straw hand-woven, in the under seat is the progressive numbering of production.
