Item description

Pair of Artifort Ribbon Chair. This historical icon of modern design was created by Parisian designer Pierre Paulin for Artifort in 1966. The Ribbon Chair continues to be produced by Artifort in the Netherlands. Pierre Paulin trained as a sculptor in Paris and used his vision to create free-standing chairs that transcend modernist sculpture. His Ribbon Chair is a beautiful example of applied art that complements any collection. The chair has a simple and clean space-age ergonomic shape to fit the body. The chair consists of a metal frame with horizontal springs, covered in foam and pink bouclé fabric with a steel pedestal. In very good condition, the pedestals show only minor scratches. The bouclé fabric is perfect.
