Item description

Italian painting from the 19th century. Oil painting on canvas depicting religious subject St. Francis of Paola by a discreet painterly hand. Painting adorned with a fabulous finely carved, chiselled, lacquered and gilded frame (see photo). A work of great size and impact, very dark with few light elements, for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of sacred art. Painting that has undergone intensive conservation and colour restoration in several places (see photo). There is a tear on the right side of the canvas (see photo). Painting in beautiful patina, overall in a fairly good state of preservation. In need of restoration. Light painting H 99 x W 74 cm.
