Napoleon III style showcase in mahogany with marble top, 19th century
Napoleon III solid mahogany display cabinet from the second half of the 19th century. The front of the door has a medallion with a geometric inlay surrounded by a bronze frame. The side panels have the same motifs as the front. The band under the top is richly adorned with bronze appliqués also found on the base, which in turn rests on fluted truncated cone feet. The marble top and key are original to the period. Provenance: France (1860/70) Condition: Restored and upholstered by our master craftsmen using traditional handmade shellac and alcohol method.
