French blue cut crystal decanter bottle, 1950s
Blue crystal bottle cut and ground by hand; for its processing a lead crystal was used which gives the crystal a high refractive index; through hand cutting, grinding and polishing techniques, the surface of the bottle creates plays of light and reflections. The mushroom-shaped cap is in cut transparent crystal. It was made in Art Deco style between 1950 and 1955 by an expert glassmaker in the Alsace area (France). The bottle is in excellent condition, however the cap does not close well.
