Oil on canvas work depicting the parable of the unfaithful factor, a gospel detail.
Once upon a time there was a factor who fraudulently administered his master's property, before he was dismissed, he tried to recover some of the debts by making significant discounts to creditors who would be grateful to him.
Instead of condemning this behavior that is to his detriment, the master praises the farmer's shrewdness.
This gospel parable is meant to urge believers to do whatever is necessary before the imminent arrival of God's Kingdom and its judgment.
The painting, adorned with a non coeval gilded wooden frame, focuses on the characters in the foreground, with a patina that does not allow a perfect view of the architecture and foreshortening on the left.
Painting to be cleaned in spite of having undergone a conservative restoration with rintelo, frame replacement, and color restoration in some places.
The work is in fair condition with several signs of time.
To be restored.
