Item description

Round tray made of oak using the bookmatching technique from the United Kingdom and dating from the 1960s. The tray is surrounded by a lip a few centimetres deep, making it perfect for carrying drinks, displaying trinkets or even just as the centrepiece of a table or sideboard. Bookmatching is a process in which two identical pieces of wood veneer are joined together, giving the impression of an open book or mirror image. In the case of this piece, four quarters have been joined together to create a subtle, kaleidoscopic finish that would look stunning in any interior. This piece is in good condition as it has been lightly refinished recently, retaining its original charm. Wear consistent with age and use. Height: 2.5 cm, diameter: 38.5 cm.
