Oil painting on canvas depicting Brighella attributed to Pietro Longhi, mid-18th century. Brighella, whose name derives from his lively, quarrelsome and insolent character, is Arlecchino's best friend; he uses his intelligence to devise jokes and traps in which to make others fall just for the sake of deceiving them. He is depicted wearing a jacket and trousers decorated with green chevrons, green shoes with black pom-poms, a white cape with two green stripes, a black mask and hat. The frame has been restored and painted.
