Bacchanal of putti, oil painting on canvas, 17th century
Oil painting on canvas of the Neapolitan school depicting a Bacchanal of putti, 17th century. Remarkable quality of the complexion, which through the use of chiaroscuro gives volume and plasticity to the characters (see photo). The putto on the left bolts with a bowl containing wine, the central one reaches out toward him while the rightmost one is portrayed in the gesture of picking a bunch of grapes next to a goat. The painting has undergone conservation restoration, frame replacement and color restoration in some spots and has been restretched (see photo). It is adorned with a modern wooden frame lacquered, gilded and painted with floral decorations. Size without frame: 85 x 115 cm.
