Antique Italian painting from the second half of the 18th century. Oil on canvas work depicting a biblical subject, Moses rescued from the waters. The book of Exodus relates that Moses' mother had abandoned him in a basket on the Nile to save him from Pharaoh's persecution. He was later found and adopted by Pharaoh's own daughter, who had gone to the river to refresh herself and her handmaids. Painting that unfolds horizontally adorned with scenic modern, carved and gilded frame. A work of great size and brilliant colors, ideal to put in an important salon or study. Painted with an excellent painterly hand, note the quality in the realization of the drapery and naturalistic elements. The characters are immersed in a splendid ideal landscape rich in detail and thanks to the aerial perspective our gaze is guided to the mountains in the background. The illusory depth of field is in fact determined by the gradations of the colors that are increasingly less sharp and tend toward blue. Painting that has been restretched and has undergone a conservative restoration with frame replacement and color restoration in some places. Overall in good condition. Size without frame: 119.5 x 175.5 cm.
