Original and characteristic French table box. It is made of colored epoxy resin with velvet inside. The decoration of the box is a severely geometric composition, with abstract images combined with colors and lines. The inside is lined in black velvet. For its creation, epoxy resin was used, a material that allows those who use it to create objects of any shape but not only, to imagine and create thousands of colors and imaginative effects; Wood effects and refined colors were chosen for this box. Epoxy resin is a versatile and durable material, commonly used in craft and art projects, including creating decorative objects such as colorful boxes, flamed wood effect table tops, or imitating stones such as malachite or marble (see example photos of objects published in furniture magazines). Epoxy resins are thermosetting polymers that, when mixed, undergo a chemical reaction that results in a hard, rigid material with excellent adhesion, transparency and resistance to heat, chemicals and UV light. The liquid part of epoxy resin usually consists of two components: a base resin and a hardener. When these two parts are mixed in the correct ratio, they trigger a chemical reaction that causes the mixture to harden; pigments or dyes are added to obtain the desired effect, at which point the resin can be spread, before it hardens, on a surface or objects can be cast. Curing time can vary depending on the epoxy used, but generally takes a few hours to a day. After the resin has hardened, the surface can be sanded to remove any imperfections or rough spots, followed by thorough brushing to achieve a shiny, shiny finish. The production of decorative objects from colored epoxy resin gained popularity in the late 1900s, with a significant increase in the use of resin for various applications, including arts and crafts. The popularity of this technique, which has gradually evolved, has grown across the European continent and various artists and craftsmen have chosen epoxy resin as a medium to create unique and vibrant decorative objects. This trend has spread across Europe, and countries such as Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom and France have made significant contributions to the application of epoxy resin in art. This box was made between 1995 and 2000 in a specialized workshop in Paris, France. The artisans have created a work of extraordinary and engaging liveliness which, with its joyful freshness and high decorative effect, lends itself to easy placement in any room of the house.
