Oil painting on canvas. The painting depicts a young woman intent on spinning wool outside on the terrace. In the background you can appreciate a green and lush hilly landscape. The work is dated and signed lower right: P. Bouvier 1867. It is in an excellent state of conservation, from the back of the canvas you can see a restoration operation probably carried out in the 1960s. Accompanied by a magnificent frame in inlaid wood and gilded plaster, with typically Art Nouveau floral decorations, which increases its luster and value. Pietro Bouvier is an Italian painter with Swiss origins, born in Milan in 1839, he began his career collaborating with his father who was a carver, he attended the Brera Academy where his teachers were Raffaele Casnedi and Francesco Hayez.
