Item description

Floor/table lamp by Carlo Nason for Mazzega, 1960s. Born in 1935 into a family of famous glassmakers on the Venetian island of Murano, Carlo Nason is undoubtedly one of the most influential glass designers of the 20th century. Particularly known for the soft shapes he creates with white and coloured glass, most of his prolific output is represented by floor lamps. The lamp in question is rare and well-preserved, designed in the 1970s for Mazzega. Made of two overlapping elements of rounded white opaline glass with chrome metal finishing details, the lamp produces a beautiful diffused light and is an extremely refined sculptural object. Preserved in very good condition, the lamp also has its original switch and cables working perfectly. The glass has no dents or cracks and is a uniform colour. The metal elements show a patina and fading due to age. The lamp is preserved in original condition and is fully functioning.
