Item description

Bar cabinet with extractable shelf attributed to Ico Parisi, 1950s. Its unrivaled design makes it an eye-catching and sculptural addition to any interior. Parisi was known for his fine craftsmanship, clean lines and sophisticated simplicity. The results of his bold experiments with different materials, including wood, metal and glass, are visible in this striking yet functional piece. Due to the detail and similarity in joinery, we believe he designed this sophisticated piece. The front of the bar cabinet, composed of two independent parts decorated with oak and teak veneers, creates an imaginative geometric puzzle. Thanks to the functional support integrated into the front of the cabinet, a flap part can easily be transformed into a practical support surface for serving cocktails and drinks. The elegance of the exterior, combined with the unexpected richness of colors and shapes inside the furniture, gives the impression of opening a box of chocolates. The red laminate coating not only protects the wood from damage but also makes it easy to clean. The bright yellow color and geometric pattern of the laminate inside the cabinet, combined with the mirror and black glass at the bottom, show the mid-century Italian spirit. In addition to the bar compartment, the cabinet offers ample display space for other items such as books and decorative items. The wooden side panels not only provide stability but, with their interesting, geometric and aerodynamic shapes, are also decorative. The piece of furniture has been checked: it is in very good original vintage condition, consistent with its age and use; the opening mechanism works smoothly. The interiors have been cleaned and the wood rejuvenated with professional products. The top shelf is 80 cm wide and 16 cm deep. The lower shelf is 80 cm wide and 24.5 cm deep. The two central shelves are 25 cm wide and 17.5 cm deep. The bar compartment is 79 cm high, 55 cm wide and 30.5 cm deep; when fully open it is 104 cm deep. Support surface height: 55.5 cm. The inside glass shelf is 51 cm wide and 18 cm deep. The side panels are 168 cm high and 37 cm deep.
