He frequents Gleyre’s studio. He distinguishes himself as a painter of figures, portraits, landscapes, seascapes and still lifes. He also devoted himself to watercolour and engraving. His works are presented at the Musée d'Orsay, the Louvre Museum or the Museum of Fine Arts in Lyon.
