Giuseppe Palizzi was born in Lanciano in 1812, into a family devoted to art of all genres from which the brothers Filippo, Nicola and Francesco Paolo also stood out as painters.
Painter recognized throughout the world for his skill and delicacy, he died in Paris in 1888.
In the foreground you can appreciate some horses intent on eating from a manger placed in the trees.
At the bottom, however, we find woodland fauna and the sky that becomes dark at dusk.
The painting is signed at the bottom left and on the back it bears the stamp of the F. Schettini collection and the stamp and authentication of the expert Cesare Gelera.
The authentication as an original painting by the author is dated March 24, 1959.
