After Titian, Laura Dianti, Venetian school painting, 17th century
Ancient Italian painting from the first half of the 17th century. Oil on canvas work of notable pictorial quality depicting the portrait of Laura Dianti, official lover of Alfonso I d'Este. There are several versions of Tiziano Vecellio's original present in large museums, such as in Rome in the Borghese Gallery and in Modena at the Estense Gallery. The lady is portrayed in a sumptuous dress full of lace and precious ornaments while the hairstyle is complex and topped with a showy tiara. Large and spectacular 19th century frame in carved and gilded wood, with some signs of aging. Work already restored with relining, replacement of the frame and color recovery in small spots. Overall in excellent state of conservation. Light painting H 55 x W 64 cm.
